General Stiffness In Your Body
If you are working from home and your shoulders and neck are feeling stiff and you've started getting some
back pain, you probably don't need me, but you could probably do with some stretches. Have a look online for yoga
or pilates exercises and remember to try to take short breaks during your day to move around and prevent you from
becoming stiff. You could add reminders to your calendar or get Google Assistant/Siri/Alexa to remind you to move every
hour. If your home desk setup
isn't perfect for your posture, try to adjust it as best you can.
If you're feeling stiffness that won't go away and is causing discomfort or you've had a muscle spasm and it's
not easing off after a few days, try relaxing in a warm bath or have a warm shower and do some gentle stretches.
Our bodies are quite good at solving problems and sometimes a slight change in routine can help, if the discomfort
was caused by overuse and poor posture.
If you've done all you can and you're still feeling stiff and need some extra help, contact me to schedule a
video appointment so I can assess whether your range of movement is being affected and help you
manage the discomfort and provide ways for you to strengthen and stretch to provide the support your body needs.
If there isn't any underlying injury and stiffness is mainly posture related and due to sitting for long periods,
you may find you only need one video appointment with the included seven days of email support to feel
better and if you continue with any stretches and breaks that have been suggested, you may be fine to continue
without any more help from me. You are always welcome to contact me if you would like further support.
The Bodywork Studio used to be located on Upper Street,
Islington in London, but now support is online so I can be where you are.
For the video call, I am very flexible with hours. We can schedule it when it suits you. If you need to put your kids to bed first,
later in the evening is fine. If you are in a different time zone, we can arrange a time that works for you.
If you've paid for a week of support and scheduled a video call, but need to reschedule your call, please give me
as much notice as you can so I can offer the time to another client. If you have paid for a video call and you miss it
without giving me prior notice, I will try to provide whatever email support
I am able to for the rest of the seven days, but I may not be able to schedule a video call.
