The benefits of pregnancy
massage
I use a specially designed bean bag for pregnancy massage. This allows you to lie face down and supports your bump, taking the strain off your lower back and making your massage a more relaxing experience. The bean bag is safe to lie on throughout your pregnancy, right up to your due date, and can be adjusted to make it more comfortable for you. Read about the bean bag at www.bumpbag.co.uk.
What to expect
Pregnancy massage is safe from your second trimester onwards, as long as you are in good health and have no complications. I use oils that are safe to use during pregnancy. You can choose a premixed oil or a plain oil.
The areas massaged are your feet and legs, back, neck and shoulders. Only gentle pressure is used on the legs as there is a risk of DVT during pregnancy. This light massage is sufficient to improve circulation and relieve swelling. It is also very relaxing.
The main focus of the massage is the back, neck and shoulders, as these are the most common areas of discomfort.
Most of my pregnant clients fall asleep during the massage and wake feeling refreshed and relaxed.
How often to have a pregancy massage
After your first trimester, a pregnancy massage once every six to eight weeks will help ease aches and pains and help you relax.
Prices
£50 for 60 minutes
£75 for 90 minutes

We are located on Liverpool Road, close to Angel tube and Highbury Corner and just off Upper Street.
I also run workshops on massage during pregnancy and labour, which teaches fathers-to-be a simple routine to use during labour to help ease pain as well as an easy pregnancy massage. The workshop can be booked at your home on a Sunday.
Pregnancy massage gift vouchers make great gifts. Pilates during pregnancy can help strengthen and tone your muscles and improve your posture.
After your little bundle of joy has arrived, it can be helpful to have a massage to encourage the release of endorphins and ease tight muscles. This is especially good if you've had a difficult birth.
If you join a mum and baby group, you can book me to come to your house and give each of the mums a 20 or 30 minute massage. More info
